One of the most common modern day challenges seem to be the dis-ease or symptons surrounding hypertension aka high blood pressure. Here is a brief overview of some info about hypertension and how to release this from your existence.

Affirmation:
I release all stress from my body and internal organs
I care for and cherish my heart and body and know that it works efficiently with love and ease to maintain its natural existence
I trust that my heart supports me and life

Causes of Hypertension:

Occurs when blood presses with excessive force against the blood vessels
Usually caused by lack of proper nutrition. Improper nutrition weakens the internal organs and creates a need by the body for extra nutrients. Often the body will demand more food (nutrients in blood) by drawing on poor (not full of nutrients) blood. It must get nutrition from the blood, so it increases the quantity of blood by increasing the pressure. The increase is the body’s attempt to feed itself and circulate nutrients. However the increased pressure and increase of blood still does not properly nourish the body. Often this pressurized blood brings more waste into the circulatory system.
High blood pressure diminishes the ability of the kidneys to filter waste, regulate hormones, aide mineral absorption, and cell formation.

Diet Changes

Eliminate salt from cooking – opt for fresh herbs and seasonings or salt-free ones
Eliminate sugar from cooking/Cut down on intake of sugar (white sugar in food and beverage, sweets, breads, pasta)
A fresh juice (not out of the bottle) could help to flush out any toxins still in the blood.
Avocados, Almonds, Dates, Eggplant Tomatoes, raisins, orange, apricots, peaches are traditionally known to help the body providing many fresh nutrients and providing potassium to lower blood pressure
Add more whole raw fruits and vegetables to your diet – try adding a salad or lightly steamed vegetable in place of a sautéed vegetable, pasta, bread, fries, etc
Eat 1 tsp of chopped garlic daily or 2x/day
Reduce or eliminate animal fat and animal protein in diet
Vitamin Suggestions

Vit C (3000-6000 mg): thins the blood and reieves stress
B-Complex (100 mg 2x.day): Lowes pressure, helps circulation
Vitamin E (100-400IU): Thins blood, helps heart
Choline (50 mg): Improves circulation and heart function
Coenzyme Q10 (100-300 mg): Normalizes pressure
Herbs

Catnip, Chamomile, Passion Flower, Valerian: these can be taken as a tea, a capsule, tincture or however you best enjoy

Because hypertension does not just appear out of nowhere, it is important to look at the body holistically and treat and repair the other organs affected by this condition

Stress: Often stress can have an affect on the body and cause one to rush through their day or their meal and lead to improper nutrition. Try to take time everyday to bless your food and sit and chew through the food so that your body can digest it with ease. If you find yourself getting stressed easily, you may want to invest in some lavendar essential oil to burn in the home or to add to bath water or to a carrier oil to make a massage oil.
Kidney Stress: Cucumber and parsley eaten raw in salads or juices are excellent tonics and food to clean the kidney and strengthen it
A strong Kidney Flush Drink can be made out of the Following: ½ Cup fresh lemon Juice, ½ cup fresh grapefruit juice, 1 garlic clove or 1 tsp of garlic powder, 1 tsp ginger root powder, 1/8 tsp cayenne
Take time each day for meditation, relaxing, prayer, clearing your mind, yoga, playing music – whatever it is that allows you to relax and focus only on the present and not get bogged down by the stress of the past and future.
